After working in architecture for twenty years, LAI Tung-Yiu Stan started his practice of ink painting at the mature age of 40. Since then, he has been a student of architect and painter Raymond Fung. Stan received the Silver Award in the “UOB
Art in Ink Awards” in 2018. His works are exhibited in galleries in Hong Kong and London, including his solo exhibition “The Three Realms of Suffering” in 2022.

Different to most traditional Chinese landscape painters who paint from a distant viewpoint, Stan paints on a microscopic level. In this chaotic world where anything can happen, he finds painting the texture of human skin therapeutic.
