Yipang was born in Hong Kong in 1957, she is a Chinese contemporary artist.

Yipang holds an MA in History of Art from SOAS, University of London and an MA in Fine and Decorative Arts from Sotheby’s Institute in London.

Her work is informed by her training as an art historian and offers a critical perspective on social, political, and cultural issues, challenging the viewer with her evocative calligraphic expressions. Using ink and brush on paper, Yipang sees her choice of medium as a symbol of Chineseness. Her work invariably raises questions by transgressing the boundaries between the East and the West. Her participation in the Ink Global 2017, Affordable Art Fair and Studioray Joint Exhibition in 2021 brought her to the forefront of Hong Kong’s contemporary art scene. Her works are being collected locally and overseas.
